Lisa Haydon Steps Back Into the Fashion Frame in Rimzim Dadu’s INLAÉ

There are some fashion shoots that look good the moment you see them. Then there are the ones where you keep noticing little details the longer you look.

Lisa Haydon’s latest work with designer Rimzim Dadu falls somewhere in the second category.

In the new images and video shared by Rimzim Dadu, Lisa wears pieces from the INLAÉ collection, with jewellery by Emerald Jewels. The shoot was posted on September 23, and Lisa seems completely at home in Dadu’s unusual mix of structure, shine and movement.

It also feels like a very natural pairing.

Dadu has spent years making fashion out of materials that don't immediately sound like fashion materials. Steel wire, metallic cords and now mother-of-pearl have become part of her design language. INLAÉ takes that idea further, drawing from the precision of Mughal inlay work and traditional jewellery craftsmanship.

And Lisa is probably one of the few Indian models who can wear something this experimental without making it look like she's trying too hard.

Lisa Haydon and Rimzim Dadu Make Sense Together

This isn't actually the first time Lisa has worn Dadu.

Back in 2023, Vogue India featured Lisa in one of the designer's structured metal-yarn looks — a black corset paired with a blue draped metal-panel skirt. Even then, the whole point was the contrast between something rigid and something that still moved with the body.

The new INLAÉ shoot takes that relationship somewhere more elaborate.

This collection uses individually cut and buffed pieces of mother-of-pearl, which are then hand-set into Dadu's metallic textile structures. The result sits somewhere between clothing and jewellery. You can see why Emerald Jewels was brought into the project too.

That's probably my favourite thing about these pictures. You don't immediately know where the jewellery ends and the outfit begins.

INLAÉ Isn't Just Another Shiny Couture Collection

At first glance, the collection is obviously built to catch the light. But there is more going on underneath it.

Dadu presented INLAÉ at Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 in July. The collection was inspired by the old craft of inlay and stone-setting, but instead of simply recreating that look, she worked mother-of-pearl into her own metallic textile techniques.

The collection included structured saris, sculptural skirts, cropped bandhgalas and tailored pieces. Around 45 looks were presented, with individual garments requiring extensive handwork.

So when Lisa appears in these pieces now, it doesn't feel like a random celebrity fashion shoot.

It feels more like another chapter of the collection.

Lisa Doesn't Need Much Styling Here

That's another thing that works.

The clothes already have plenty going on. Add too much jewellery, a complicated hairstyle and heavy makeup, and the whole thing could easily become a bit much.

Instead, Lisa lets the clothes do most of the talking.

There's something quite cool about seeing her in fashion that isn't designed simply to make someone look conventionally glamorous. The shapes are unusual. The surfaces catch the light differently. Some of the pieces almost look architectural.

And Lisa has the confidence to just stand there and let them be what they are.

A Familiar Face in a Very Different Fashion Mood

Lisa Haydon has always had a slightly different place in Indian fashion.

She became widely known as a model before moving into films, including Queen, The Shaukeens and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. But fashion never really disappeared from the picture.

Even during the years when she was less visible in the entertainment spotlight, she continued to appear in fashion and lifestyle work. A 2025 Vogue India profile also looked at how her life had changed after stepping away from much of the public eye.

That makes this new shoot feel interesting without needing to turn it into a “Lisa Haydon is back” story.

She's not really someone who disappeared.

She just isn't everywhere anymore.

And maybe that's why these images stand out a little more when they arrive.

The Shoot

Rimzim Dadu's caption describes the pieces as bringing some of the favourite INLAÉ looks to life and into motion, with the garments and jewellery designed around light, movement and the body. Emerald Jewels is credited for the jewellery.

Lisa is a particularly good fit for that idea.

The clothes move. The metal catches the light. The mother-of-pearl changes depending on the angle.

And suddenly what could have been just another celebrity fashion post becomes something worth stopping to look at.

Lisa Haydon in Rimzim Dadu's INLAÉ isn't loud fashion. It doesn't really need to be.

It's the material, the silhouette and the way she carries it.
